Mary Alice Reporting – The Dover School Board made a decision related to the future of the former administration building.

Conversations have been held in months past for the West 6th Street structure that is no longer needed since the offices moved into the renovated 1962 wing of the Dover High School.

Discussion from the education board, according to a release, noted the historical value as the building was home to Samuel Reeves for several years before his death. Superintendent Kari McCrate did reach out to the Dover Historical Society and city library to field any interest in acquiring the structure.

In the end, the board voted to level the property, with McCrate noting they would make effort to preserve parts for local historical organizations.
