A Monroe Street home is a total loss following a Monday blaze.

Dover Firefighters responders at 1:50am with heavy fire showing from three sides of the structure.

Captain Michael Mosser says three individuals were initially inside.

“And a passerby stopped and knocked on the bedroom window and woke them up, and really got them out of the building just in the nick of time, and they all got out okay.”

Mosser notes that damage is about $300,000 for the building and roughly $80,000 or more for the contents. A cause, which is not suspicious in nature, is under investigation.

Assisting departments included Bolivar, New Philadelphia, Strasburg, Sugarcreek, and Smith Ambulance.
