Gwen Rummell Reporting –

Dover Light and Power recently received their annual analysis from American Municipal Power.

Dover residential rates remained level despite higher transmission and inflation costs. Rates were lower than American Electric Power according to Mayor Shane Gunnoe.

“For the third year, our residential rates remained lower than AEP, with the AEP standard service customer seeing a total expected rate of 18.4 cents per kilowatt hour, versus the Dover power rate currently at 14.5 cents.”

The average customer uses about 1,000 kilowatt hours a month.

Gunnoe stated the analysis shows that the policy changes put in place over the last several years is helping Dover Light and Power be a reliable, efficient, and affordable asset for the community.
