Gwen Rummell Reporting –

The Dover Public Library is teaming up with the Rust Belt Linen Project to host a flax paper-making workshop for children.

The event will be held at the library on Monday, August 21st at 2 pm and last approximately an hour. Jessika Raisor, who is part of the Rust Belt Linen Project, will teach attendees about the process of making paper from the flax plant.

Flax seeds were planted at the library in late spring to be harvested later in August. The children will collect the plants and listen to a quick discussion about its history. The flax will then be cut up, processed, and made into sheets of paper. Participants will have the opportunity to take a sheet of the newly processed paper home.

To make a reservation, call the children’s department at 330-343-6123.
