Gwen Rummell Reporting –

The Dover Public Library will host Rob Schwartz to speak about his father’s posthumous book The Wisdom of Morrie: Living and Aging Creatively and Joyfully.

Schwartz is the son of the late Morrie Schwartz, a former sociology professor with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Morrie gained international notoriety after the publication of Tuesdays with Morrie.

The New York Times bestselling novel was written by Mitch Albom and featured the series of visits Albom made to his former professor after learning about his worsening state. Within each visit, Morrie would offer advice on various life concerns.

During his life, Morrie wrote a personal manuscript on his thoughts about aging and death. After his passing, his son edited and published it as The Wisdom of Morrie. According to Rob, the novel is a “more in-depth” companion to Tuesdays with Morrie.

The program will be held on Thursday, August 31st at 6:30 in the library’s Community Room. Following the program, a book signing will take place.

Those who wish to attend are encouraged to sign up quickly, as seats are very limited.

To register, visit www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
