The latest housing development proposal for Dover is a step closer but still months away from construction after the city’s planning commission approved the annexation of about 33 acres near the city’s north border Tuesday.
The proposal from Lawver Homes calls for 54 single-unit condominiums and 29 single-family homes, ranging in price from 300,000 to 500,000 dollars along St. Peters Church Road near the Dover Burial Cemetery.
Mayor Shane Gunnoe says city council still must approve the annexation of the land from Dover Township and the actual site plan has to go through the city’s committee review process.
Lawver Homes is also building the first houses at the new 30-home Crimson Cove Subdivision about a mile south of the company’s newest proposal. Gunnoe says these developments are a good start to addressing the need for new homes in Tuscarawas County.
Gunnoe says all landowners contiguous to the annexation property received notification of Tuesday’s public hearing and none voiced objections.
