The city of Dover recognized a longtime employee this week and is saving his spot at the park two months after his passing.
Ken Rose was 62 and working as a crew leader with the Dover Parks Department when he died on November 12th.
City Council Monday approved a resolution expressing sympathy and thanking Rose for 29 years of service.
Mayor Shane Gunnoe offered an additional memorial, as the city planted a royal raindrop crabapple tree near the tennis courts where he watched his daughter this past season on the Dover girls tennis team.
Rose’s widow, Christine, thanked the city, noting that Ken worked for several city departments throughout his career.
Rose’s family asked for memorial donations to the Dover girls tennis team through the Dover Tornado Club.
