A ceremony is planned for Saturday to dedicate a monument to honor Dover Police Department K-9’s.
Following an invocation, remarks will be made by the president of the Police K-9 Association Bureau, donors of the project will be recognized, and then the official dedication will be given by Dover’s Mayor.
The plaque will have listed K-9 King, who served from 1974 to 1976, K-9 Rex was on duty from 2014 to 2022, and the current K-9 unit is Red, who started with the police department in 2022.
The ceremony, on the square in downtown Dover, will begin at 11am.
