The Dress-A-Child program has again come through for area parents needing some assistance in sending their kids back to school with all-new clothes.

Treasurer Becky Mastin says the program this year was able to provide 120 dollar gift cards to 1,053 kids in Tuscarawas county from homes based on federal poverty guideline figures.

The number of kids served was up from the 980 last year. She says dress-a-child had nearly 127-thousand dollars to spend on gift cards this year, which is also up significantly from 2024, aided by beneficiary gifts from two individuals totaling 45-thousand dollars.

Mastin says donations for dress-a-child are accepted year-round.  Donations, addressed to dress-a-child, may be sent to 1210 Winkler Dr., Dover, OH 44622.
