The State Highway Patrol says a New Philadelphia man was cited for OVI and other violations for crashing his vehicle and striking a house on the way to Stone Creek early Monday morning.

Sgt. Jennifer Makris says the 38-year-old man’s car crossed the center line and went off the left side of the street before striking a mailbox and a house in the 29-hundred block of Stonecreek Road just after midnight.

It’s unclear if anyone was home at the time. Makris says nobody else was hurt other than the driver, who was taken to a Canton hospital for suspected minor injuries.

The driver was also cited for failure to control and a seat belt infraction.
