Dwight F. Lawrence, 82, of Newcomerstown, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehab Center, Newcomerstown. He was born October 5, 1941, in Guernsey Co. to the late Willis Lawrence and Mary Beatrice (Love) McCauslin. He was a foreman at Kurz-Kasch in Newcomerstown until his retirement. Dwight was a member of Tri-County Sportsman Club where he frequently won the Lucky X Competition, even with his bad eye. He helped with CCW classes. He loved tractors and built two John Deere tractors with the help of friends. He also loved motorcycles, guns and fishing. He was a regular at April’s Country Kitchen. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.
Dwight is survived by his children, Sherry (Steve) Jones, Debbie Fairchild, Susan (Dan) Schiller, Greg (Melanie) Lawrence and Gabe (Katie) Lawrence; grandchildren, Nathan, Joshawa and Rebekah Jones, Leslie Laine, Eric Dubberly, Mamie Luogameno, Katie Schiller, Jennifer Stephens, Gregory Lawrence, Amber and Sean Lawrence; his great-grandkids; close friends, Jim Bouscher, Mike Hart, Curt Peoples, and Gary Shryock; and his favorite waitress, Teresa Bourne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Cecil and Dale Lawrence and his infant twin brother, Darrell; his favorite sister, Evelyn Bouscher; stepfather, Johnny McCauslin; his close friends, Bunk Dulaney and Bud Steed.
Services for Dwight will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Addy Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the service. The family would like for everyone to dress casually. His favorite colors were yellow and green so feel free to wear them.
