Over $64,000 is going to a local service center for the purpose of driver training.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the grants to expand access for teenage training for low-income families, and 35 agencies or school districts received portions of the $2.5 million.

Among them is the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center, serving Tuscarawas, Belmont, Carroll, and Stark, being awarded $64,750.

The statewide funding is expected to provide driver training scholarships to roughly 5,000 Ohio students living in 43 counties.

Other areas awarded grants was the Village of West Lafayette, Stark County Educations Service Center, and Muskingum Valley ESC.
