Firefighters battled frigid temperatures early Saturday after a sawmill blaze was reported.
East Holmes Fire and EMS were called at 2:44am to 4917 County Road 207, says Chief John Schlabach.
He says upon crews arriving, the large barn like structure was showing flames. One concern was nearby buildings and a house. No other structures were damaged, but the sawmill is a total loss. No one was injured.
He says units remained on scene for roughly seven hours. A lot of this was due to single digit temperatures and water freezing. It also created slick road conditions near the area.
Schlabach adds they did save a lot of lumber stacked near the sawmill business.
