Edward Clyde Vincent, 83, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home on March 20, 2025. His parents, the late Wilbur Lee and Lillian Marie (Vinard) Vincent, welcomed Ed into the world on June 22, 1941 in Dennison, Ohio.
Ed was a lifelong resident of Uhrichsville where he grew up attending Uhrichsville First Christian Church and was a 1959 graduate of Uhrichsville High School where he had been a talented football player – earning him a college scholarship. After high school, he was employed by Nickleplate Railroad as a telegrapher for several years, before beginning his life’s work as a skilled carpenter. He ran his own business, Vincent Construction, for most of his life until retiring in 2005. In the 1990s, he was the proprietor of The Sports Club in Uhrichsville, as well. Ed also worked at Ember Homecare for several years in retirement.
In his younger years, Ed loved to play golf and throughout his life, he was known to be an excellent pool player. He was a member of the Uhrichsville Eagles where he enjoyed spending time with his many friends and playing a multitude of card games.
Ed is survived by his two daughters, Denise (Mike) Walsh and Deanne (Brian) Wilson; grandchildren, Rachel and Lauren Walsh, Jacob Edwards, and McKenzie (Zach) Braun; great-grandson, Creed Braun; several nieces and nephews; and his former spouses, Connie Vincent and Becky Kostelnik. He was preceded in death by his son, David Vincent; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Barb Vincent; and an infant sister, Ethel Jane Vincent.
Rev. Mark Unrue will officiate a 5:00 p.m. funeral on Tuesday, March 25, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Ed will be interred with his parents in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery on a future date. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to their favorite charity, in lieu of flowers.
