Edward Lee King, 66, of Dennison, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born March 20, 1956 in Dennison, he was the son of Ethel M. “Tuty” (Lehigh) King of Dover and the late William E. “Bud” King.

Ed was a lifelong Twin City resident and a 1974 graduate of Claymont High School. He had a long career in the grocery business, beginning at Grocery Warehouse, then continuing with Big Bear, and finally for Baker’s IGA until his retirement in 2020. He enjoyed woodworking, music, and sports, especially watching golf, the Cleveland Browns, and the Buckeyes.

On January 25, 1975, Ed married Vickie D. (Casebeer) King who survives him along with their children, Scott King and Melissa (fiancé, Scott Beagle) Boles; grandchildren, Paighton, Gage, Andrew, Kayeleigh, Matthew, Edward III “Eddie”, and Katelynn; great-grandson, Aarbor; daughter-in-law, Doris King; and former daughter-in-law, Chrissy. Ed is also survived by his mother, Ethel “Tuty”; sisters, Linda (Gary) Hanna and Carolyn King; mother-in-law, Dessie Casebeer; sisters-in-law, Cathy Casebeer and Candy Donaldson; brother-in-law, Terry (Brenda) Casebeer; and many nieces and nephews, including Heidi with whom he was especially close. In addition to his father, Bud, he was preceded in death by his son, Edward L. King II, and his father-in-law, Gene Casebeer.

According to Ed’s wishes, cremation is planned, and his family plans a celebration of his life for a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
