Edward Lee Rowe, 73, of Uhrichsville, passed away at his home on Friday, May 20, 2022. Born February 18, 1949, in Crawford County, Arkansas, he was a son of the late Arnold Douglas and Ellen Isabell (Dean) Rowe.

Lee was a local resident for all of his life with the exception of the years when he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. He returned home to a career at Belden Brick. After retiring from Belden, he spent many happy years taking immaculate care of his lawn and gardens, enjoying his favorite cold beverage, Budweiser, as he worked. He loved his dogs and kept a watchful eye on all of his family, friends, and neighbors in town. Most of all, he treasured the time that he spent with his children, grandchildren, and siblings.

On July 8, 1976, Lee married the former Linda Lou Mathias with whom he enjoyed over 29 years of marriage until her passing on August 2, 2005. They are survived by a son, Edward Lee “Little Lee” Rowe, Jr.; daughters, Crystal (Matthew) Finkel and Michele (Kyle) Snyder; grandchildren, Zayne, Zoey, and Parker; and his faithful canine companions, Olaf and Biscuit. Lee is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou (Mark) Dunlap; brothers, David (Dana) Rowe and Arthur William “Bill” Rowe; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmie and Ronald D. Rowe, and sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Louis Tantarelli and Janet and John Green.

According to Lee’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. His family plans to hold a celebration of his life on a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd. N.E., New Philadelphia, OH  44663.
