We’re now just over a week away from the general election.

Early voting continues at the courthouse through Sunday with extended weekday hours.

Tuscarawas County Board of Elections Director Gail Garbrandt says it now starts 30 minutes earlier – at 7:30 am – ending 12 hours later each weekday evening except for Tuesday. That night, early voting will be available until 8:30, which is the deadline to request an absentee ballot.

Completed ballots can be deposited in the secure drop box next to the Ashwood Lane entrance but only if it’s done by the voter, since there was a directive from the Ohio Secretary of State requiring those returning ballots for others to go inside and sign a form.

Ballots being returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day and received by November 9th to count toward the overall total.
