Mineral city’s fire chief says a fire Tuesday morning caused significant heat and smoke damage to a two-story home in the 87 hundred block of north high street.
Nobody was injured. Chief Sam Moore says neighbors reported the fire shortly before 8:30 am as one of the residents was making it out and the bedroom and upstairs area were fully involved when firefighters arrived.
Moore says firefighters were quickly able to get it out. But the family of three at the home has been temporarily displaced and the Red Cross is finding them somewhere to stay.
Moore says the fire started within an electrical outlet. Mineral city, Fairfield Township, Bolivar, Dover and East Sparta departments assisted.
