Tuscarawas EMA plan updated and approved by Tuscarawas County Commissioners.

The emergency preparedness plan is required to be updated every four years and first, changes were accepted by the Local Emergency Planning Committee.

Local EMA Deputy Director Chase Buckler explains that there were no major changes.

“When assigning roles and responsibilities to different agencies what are the title and point of contact for that. There are a few changes that I had made that covered our basis, like if there’s a spill at a facility the facility is responsible, but we didn’t have anything for if the spill happened in transport, you know, we stated the transporting agency is responsible for those kinds of things.”

With the commissioner’s nod of approval, the plan will be submitted to the state for final confirmation.
