Erin Shane Burdette, 64, of Uhrichsville, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Born October 6, 1957 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Everett Sherman “Burdie” and Nancy Ellen (Gold) Burdette.
On March 15, 1980, Shane married the former Renee Hilliard who survives him along with their children, Keeley (Dewey) Thomas and Erin Shane “Bubba” Burdette, II, and grandchildren, Gavin, Bryer, and Brynley Thomas. Shane is also survived by his sister, Shellie Kutcher; brother, Shea Burdette; brother-in-law, Rick Cox; and a large extended family, including sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sherrie Cox.
Shane grew up in the Twin Cities and was a 1976 graduate of Claymont High School. He was employed for over 40 years with E. S. Burdette & Sons Excavating and S & B Excavating until his current employment with Bridges Excavating. His favorite pastimes were running hunting dogs with Bubba, fishing, dirt track races, and spending time with his family.
Pastor Kory Rowland will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Thursday, March 17, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. His family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
