Esther Rose Rogers, 76, of Freeport, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Riverside Manor in Newcomerstown, following a period of declining health. Born October 3, 1948 in Bellaire, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Marion and Ruby Anna (Sommer) Rogers.

Esther was a lifelong area resident and a 1966 graduate of Lakeland High School. After her mother’s passing when she was 17, Esther decided to stay home and take care of her young brothers – Philip who was 7 and Mark who was 10. Esther worked as a housekeeper for many years and enjoyed listening to music and shopping in her down time. She had been a member of Piedmont Methodist Church for much of her life.

She will be missed by her surviving family which includes her brothers, Mark Rogers and Philip (Ruth) Rogers; sister, Ruth Rogers; nephews, Phillip Rogers Jr., Roy (Krystal) Rogers, Terry (Jennifer) Brock, Jeremy (Lisa) Brock, Jason (Stephanie) Brock, and Dalton (Samantha) Brock; nieces, Rose (Brian) Law, Kathy (Billy) Zimmerman, and Crystal (Joe) Newell; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph M. Rogers Jr. and John E. Rogers, and her sister-in-law, Betty Rogers

Pastor Jon Little will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Thursday, October 31, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where her family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. She will be interred in Greenmont Union Cemetery in Freeport. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the American Cancer Society, Piedmont Methodist Church, and Harrison County Humane Society.
