Looking for Top Chili Chefs to Compete in Jack’s House of Hope Inaugural Chili Cookoff via Friends of the Homeless

Friends of the Homeless is holding a FREE Chili Cookoff on Saturday, January 18th, 2025  from 12 Noon to 4 pm at the Schoolhouse in Zoar to share information with the community about the Jack’s House of Hope campaign to build a new shelter and to learn about some of the individuals in our county who are currently without a permanent home. This is a FREE fun event for the entire family. Take your kids, and your dogs (if friendly) and enjoy a complete chili supper including salad, bread or crackers, and other goodies donated by volunteers, and local churches and made and served by folks volunteering, working, or living in the existing shelter. All are welcome to cast their vote for your favorite chili (or chef:)  $200 First Prize to the Top Chili Cookoff Chef. 2nd and 3rd prizes also. If you are a chili chef, whether in a restaurant, a church, or a home or you have a family recipe handed down, or you have questions about the event, please call 330.204.7657 or email: constanceclark66@gmail.com to reserve your spot and get details. A goodwill donation basket and information on the campaign to support the shelter and new building will be available, but no purchase is necessary. This is a FREE meal.
