Mar 13 Ohio Local History Alliance Region 5 Meeting Registration Deadline
Ohio Local History Alliance Region 5 Meeting will take place on Saturday, March 21st; REGISTER BY March 13th! Region 5 includes Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Stark, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties. Host: Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park. The meeting will take place at the Puskarich Public Library, 200 E Market Street, Cadiz and will be held in the lower level of the library, in the Harrison County History of Coal Museum. The library parking lot extends around the building, the spots at the back or side of the building will provide more direct access to the lower-level entrances and meeting space. Registration is at 9 am; Welcome at 9:30; concurrent sessions begin at 9:45 such as, Identifying Archival Material (Photos, Documents) with Mandy Altimus Stahl from the Massillon Museum. Growing Heritage: How small attractions win Grants & Visitors with Diane Lautenschleger from the Tuscarawas County Convention & Visitors Bureau. There will be a Tour of the Harrison County History of Coal Museum. 11:30 is Sharing Time with Lunch at 12:15. At 1, The Alliance Region 5 Business Meeting & Ohio History Connection Local History Office Report. Concurrent Sessions will start back up at 1:30 with The Digital Shoebox Project and Digitization Considerations with Susan Guthrie from the Puskarich Public Library. After that, Introductions to Canva: Free Online Design Tool with Karli Ray from the Puskarich Public Library and Taylur Cunningham from the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum Systems. 2:45: Travel to and tour of the Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park.
