Tuscarawas County’s Family and Children First Council is using grant money to help fight addiction in our community.
The council received almost 157-thousand-dollars from the OneOhio Foundation to create a new, two-year high fidelity wraparound facilitator position.
Manager Christi Otte says the addition will streamline access to essential resources and support while building resilience and healing amongst families with children impacted by substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
The council is still accepting applications for the opening and hopes to begin interviews by the end of the week.
The grant is part of more than 51-million dollars in opioid settlement money the foundation doled out statewide. Other recipients include Tuscarawas County’s Job and Family Services office, which received almost 320-thousand dollars.
That’s being used to create two new positions within the agency and one at the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center.
