Mary Alice Reporting –

Details have been released following a weekend crash that claimed the life of an out of state traveler.

The New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post indicate that on Saturday, around 5pm, a Chevrolet was northbound on State Route 21. Meanwhile, a Toyota was at the stop sign on SR 212, but the driver failed to yield to the oncoming vehicle and proceeded through the intersection, striking the passenger side of the Chevrolet.

The Toyota was being driven by a 63-year-old, from Wisconsin, and she was transported with life-threatening injuries. The passenger, Douglas Devan, 76, also of Wisconsin, was pronounced deceased by the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 22-year-old from Strasburg, sustained minor injuries.

Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the ongoing investigation.
