Faye Eileen Tharp, of Tippecanoe, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at her daughter’s residence, at the age of 89.
Faye was born August 20, 1935, in Perry Township, West Chester, she was the daughter of the late John Bert and Helen (Weingarth) Gardner.
After graduation, Faye pursued her career, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was a school teacher for the Harrison Hills City School District for 45 years. She attended the Rush Community Church of the Nazarene.
Faye is survived by her children Bert (Patty) Tharp of Tippecanoe and Vonda Hamilton of Uhrichsville; siblings Harvey Gardner and Richard Gardner; eight grandchildren Jacob Tharp, Caleb Tharp, Kristina (Jason) Patterson, Megan (Momodou) Sambou, Alex (Taylor) Hamilton, Brianna (Bobby) Dewalt, Samantha (James) Sanders and Emma Hamilton; fifteen great grandchildren Aisha, Mariama, Aminah, Ibrahim, Khadijah and Fatima Sambou, Parker, Karsyn, Emerson and Adley Hamilton, Bryer and Bailey Dewalt; Landen, James and Avery Sanders.
In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her husband William Edward “Spike” Tharp, whom she married November 28, 1957. William passed away July 30, 2014; brothers Donald, Clifford, John, Kenny and Glen Gardner and a grand daughter-in-law Tia Tharp.
Funeral services for Faye will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 11 a.m., at the Rush Community Church of the Nazarene in Uhrichsville, with the Rev. Brett Warkentine officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery in Gilmore.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. in Uhrichsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rush Community Church of the Nazarene and the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department.
