Tuscarawas County’s Board of Elections is reminding residents that today is the final day to register to vote in Ohio ahead of the November general election.
Director Dave Johnson says the office on East High Avenue in New Philadelphia will stay open late to accommodate last‑minute registrations and absentee ballot requests.
Johnson says the Board of Elections office will be open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. tonight for anyone needing to register, update their information, or pick up or drop off an absentee ballot request.
He says the final day is typically busy, with brand‑new voters and residents whose registrations were canceled after years of inactivity.
Voters unsure of their status can check online through the Board of Elections website or call the office at 330‑343‑8819.
Residents registering in person will need to bring identification.
