Plans are in place ahead of work starting on the 3rd Street bridge in the city of Uhrichsville.

The rehabilitation is anticipated to begin this spring and will include a full deck replacement and asphalt.

Law Director Jeff Merklin says, from a legal perspective, things are ready to move forward.

“I got the final, we think, piece of the puzzle. There were two final judgement entries on the court case on the 3rd Street bridge repair. There were like six, seven pieces of property that needed to have permission to go on and fix the bridge. [For] two [of them] people had died and the estates had not been done.”

The city is covering $220,000 of the roughly $2.3 million project. The Ohio Department of Transportation is funding 95%.
