New Philadelphia firefighters say a fire at a house in the 200 block of fork road southeast Wednesday afternoon caused about 150 thousand dollars in damage.
Nobody was injured and fire captain Robert Snyder says a neighbor discovered the fire and helped get an elderly man safely out of the home.
Snyder says firefighters got the call at about 4 pm and were on scene 10 minutes later. The two people who live there are staying with family for the time being while the home gets evaluated.
Snyder says the cause of the fire is being listed as accidental but undetermined, and possibly electrical. it appears to have started on the back side of the house on the second floor.
Dover, Uhrichsville, and Dennison fire departments also responded.
