Mary Alice Reporting –
A Uhrichsville home is totaled after a blaze broke out Tuesday evening.
Units were dispatched at 6:49pm to 313 N. Romig Street, where police closed down 3rd Street to allow responding unit’s room to maneuver on the side road.
Upon arrival, according to City Fire Chief Justin Edwards, heavy flames were showing on three sides of the structure.
“They did attempt a transitional attack (but) too much fire. All the firefighter operations were done on the exterior. There was somebody at the residents when we arrived and they got out safely with their dog. Other known occupants of the home have been confirmed to be safe the best of our abilities.”
Assisting units included fire departments out of Dennison, New Philadelphia, Arrowhead Joint District, Warwick Township, and police departments from Uhrichsville, Dennison, and Gnadenhutten.
Overall, crews remained on scene for almost six hours.
