Mary Alice Reporting –

A conservative $75,000 in damage is estimated following a blaze that spread to three buildings on Waterworks Hill Road.

Dennison Fire Department was toned out at 2:51am Friday and they remained on scene for about six hours.

Chief Dave McConnell says the family was notified by a neighbor and overall, no person was injured.

“Upon arrival we had three buildings altogether, all attached to one. The barn housed some goats, there was a little woodshop in there, and attached to that was a greenhouse.”

He adds that nine goats were unable to escape the barn.

A cause is potentially electrical in nature or due to heat lamps.

“There was just so much damage and by the time we got there it was pretty much on the ground and had already burnt down. It was such a rural location, and we had some trouble getting a water supply established and getting water back there to it.”

Other assisting fire departments were Uhrichsville, Warwick Township, Arrowhead Joint, along with Smith Ambulance and Tuscarawas Sheriff Deputies.
