Mary Alice Reporting –

On Saturday, community members are invited to the annual HRN Firefighter Field Day at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds in Dover.

The no charges event begins at 5pm and will feature kid events and new things like a Jeep Show and two bands, Deep Creek Outlaws a local country band from 5:30 to 7pm, and then Dirty Deeds, an AC/DC Tribute, will be on stage from 8 to 9pm.

President Katie Schweitzer says that first responders are invited to come out but instead of competing in challenges, they can enjoy the day.

“All the fire departments, law enforcement officers, and first responders to come and instead they will be given vouchers for food trucks, an event t-shirt, and entered into a drawing for a couple of prizes.”

While the event is free, Schweitzer says donations will be taken which will go back to Aluminum Cans for Burned Children.

Other vendors, including food trucks and a beer garden, will be available, and then at 9:30pm there will be a fireworks display.
