
Thursday, July 2nd kicks off the 49th annual First Town Days Festival. At noon, the midway and craft vendors open, and the events begin. The Al Maloney Midway Stage will be filled all day long with performances, contests and an opening ceremony introducing the Mayor and Committee at 4 p.m. There will also be a petting zoo and bingo at the pavilion for everyone to enjoy. A bocce tournament will be held at 6 p.m. Then to close off the night, the City of New Philadelphia presents their gigantic fireworks display at 10 p.m.
Friday, July 3rd is the second day of the First Town Days Festival and the midway opens at 11 a.m. There will be a kiddie tractor pull, a pie eating contest and entertainment throughout the afternoon. At 6:30 p.m., the Grand Parade will begin. Following that is music from Sparkling Lion Champagne until the midway closes at 10 p.m.
Celebrate the 4th of July at the First Town Days Festival. The 3rd day of the festival begins early Saturday at 7:30 a.m. with select midway vendors opening for breakfast. At that time the petting zoo will open, and the fishing derby will start shortly after. At 9 a.m. there’s the Roberts softball game and the McInturf Realty and Lawver Homes 5k run and walk. The midway and vendors open at 12 p.m. The rest of the day will consist of activities like a turtle, big wheel and sack race along with musical entertainment.
Sunday, July 5th is the final day of the First Town Days Festival starts off with the First Christian church service at 10 a.m. in the amphitheater. After that, the midway and vendors open at 11 a.m. Today brings in the amateur talent shower beginning at 1 p.m. Then later in the afternoon there will be a car show. Live entertainment will continue throughout the day on the Al Maloney Stage. At 4 p.m. there will be a wiffle ball tournament at the Quaker Stadium. Soon after the 4-day festival will come to a close at 7 p.m.
