Coming up next week, an awards presentation will be held to announce the winner of the Woman of the Year.
Five were nominated for the 2023 Lucille Nussdorfer award, which is hosted annually through the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum.
Patricia Feller, of Dover, was nominated for her work at the J.E. Reeves Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum and for being on the Dover Historical Society Board for years.
Carmel Haueter, of Bolivar, has had an extensive volunteer impact on Tuscarawas County as the former Executive Director of the Rainbow Connection and with multiple organizations in the county.
Debbie Knisely has been nominated for her work creating the Alley Cats Marketplace and Fresh the Market in downtown New Philadelphia.
Emily Lane, of Dover, was nominated for her work with area non-profits and competitive swimming in Tuscarawas County.
Amy Myers, of Uhrichsville, has been a lifetime volunteer and has spent numerous hours as an athletic official for events advocating for sports education.
Overall, the award is presented to a woman who make an impact in her community.
