Mary Alice Reporting – A gathering was held Tuesday, at Tappan Lake Marina, regarding a partnership between the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy Foundation and Encino Energy.

The company currently has a 5-year lease with the district related to Oil and Gas and that time span will correspond with the memorandum of understanding for $100,000, which will provide funding to the foundation for various projects explains Executive Director Sheila Hurley.

“That aligns with both our missions and goals. Focusing on youth development, health and safety, the environment, and just a variety of different types of projects, so it’s really just exciting that we’re able to do that.”

Encino Energy Chief Executive Officer Hardy Murchison adds that this is a unique partnership for the region that spans multiple counties.

“Most of these relationships are just purely commercial. To have the alignment of missions and to formalize that in an MOU like this is either rare or maybe unique.”

Hurley notes that, over the five years, the Foundation will consider smaller projects and not necessarily a large one so that more of the MWCD geographical area will see an impact.
