Florence I. Miller, 72, of Ragersville, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, due to a several month battle with cancer.
Born on May 29, 1951, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Marie (Espenschied) Gano. She married Daniel M. “Otto” Miller on February 11, 1995. Daniel preceded her in death on April 20, 2019.
She was retired from Sugarcreek Industries. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, but especially enjoyed time with her family.
Florence is survived by her children; Sonya (Jeremy Colwell) Gadfield of Sugarcreek, Cynthia “Cindy” (James) Grove of Kimbolton, and Robert (Denisha Novinski) Gadfield of Ragersville; son-in-law Terry Burkhart of Dundee; stepson Shawn (Chandra) Miller of Ragersville; stepdaughter Lillian (Jimmy) Chamberlain of Dover; sisters Mary (Wayne) Dixon of Strasburg, Carol (Jan) Quillin of Stone Creek, and Carol Gano of Stone Creek; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Grace Burkhart; brothers John Gano and Forrest “Punk” Gano; and sister Margaret Haney.
Services for Florence will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion United Church of Christ in Ragersville with Pastor Jason Boggs officiating with burial to follow in the Ragersville Cemetery. Friends may call at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 2-4 pm, and on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
