Mary Alice Reporting –

The legacy and dedication of Connie Espenschied Hess, one of Kent State University at Tuscarawas’ first employees, will carry on after her passing in 2020.

The university decided to create a new scholarship that encourages students to be their best, which is in line with Hess’s encouragement for all students to continue their formal education after high school no matter their circumstances.

Her 35-year tenure with Kent State Tuscarawas started in 1968, with Hess entering the educational system as a secretary, moving into administration and ultimately becoming Director of Admissions.
