Frederick Loren Wright left behind his earthly struggles and entered his heavenly home on February 12, 2023.

Fred was born in Rush Township on November 10, 1931, to Golda Marie (Latto) and Jasper Edwin Wright.  He attended Pleasant Grove School and Uhrichsville High School, before continuing his education at Great Lakes Bible Institute in Chicago and Eastern Bible Institute at Greenlane, Pennsylvania.

In 1952 he felt the call to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in New York, Wyoming, Texas, California, Alaska, and Missouri. While stationed in Missouri, he met Jocelyn Mary Tyynismaa, also USAF, and they were married November 17, 1956. After re-enlisting in the Air Force, he was stationed in England, France, Arkansas, Greenland, and Oklahoma. In 1962, he left the USAF, attended Detroit Business Institute to learn computer operation and programming, and then moved his family back home to Rush Township.

He was employed at Joy Manufacturing, Reeves Banking & Trust, Department of Human Services, and Tuscarawas County Child Support Enforcement Agency. He retired from CSEA at the end of 1996.

When not working, Fred enjoyed tending his garden, running a trap line, fishing, and hunting grouse with his friend, Dan Mamula. In later years, as his eyesight faded, Fred enjoyed traversing the dirt roads of Rush Township on Polaris rides with Susan. He also enjoyed sitting on his back porch, where he was often visited by his brothers and sister, as well as his pastor and friend, Rod Phillips.

After 48 years of marriage, Jocelyn passed away on December 24, 2004. Fred was also preceded in death by his brother Gary.

Fred is survived by his children, Susan (Greg) Carr, Mark (Joyce) Wright, Michael (Gwen) Wright, and Shara (Tom) Brown, as well as his sister, Juanita Wright, and brothers, Terry Wright and Ronnie Wright. Surviving grandchildren are Justin Wright, Ben Wright, BreAnn Dickey, Zachery Brown, Caleb Brown, and Emily Brown, and great grandchildren, Marcus Wright, Nicole Dickey, Camden Wright and Vivienne Wright.

Per Fred’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.  The family will have a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dennison Foursquare Church.

His family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation who cared for Fred over the past year.
