JOE NICHOLS
Joe Nichols has been a mainstay of country music for two decades, bridging the gap between the genre’s old-school roots and contemporary era. He’s a 21st century traditionalist — an artist who’s both timely and timeless, racking up a half-dozen Number 1 singles and ten Top 10 hits with a sound that honors his heroes. From his first radio smash, 2002’s “The Impossible,” to 2021’s Home Run,” Nichols has proudly done things his own way, blurring the boundaries between country music’s past and present along the way.
It’s an approach that has earned Nichols multi-platinum success, three Grammy nominations, a CMA award, an ACM trophy, and — perhaps most importantly — the support of his idols. He still remembers the day he received a letter from Buck Owens, who passed away the same week his message arrived in Nichols’ mailbox. The two had previously crossed paths in Bakersfield, California, where Owens complimented Nichols on his classic sound… and gave him some good-natured teasing about the length of his hair.
TRAVIS DENNING
Call him hardheaded, but Mercury Nashville singer-songwriter Travis Denning has always followed his own path. Over the years, that would lead some to predict he was headed nowhere fast. But with nearly 750 million global streams and a growing country profile, he’s proved them wrong.
From his 2018 breakout “David Ashley Parker from Powder Springs” (a Top 40 debut which has since been certified Gold by the RIAA), to his jet black 2019 hit “After a Few” (a Platinum Number One on the Billboard Country Airplay charts), three explosive EPs and a reputation for totally unhinged live shows, Denning has carved out a thriving – if slightly audacious – place in the modern Music City
He’s “a guitar player moonlighting as a metalhead in country music,” as he likes to say. And with his first-full length album Roads That Go Nowhere, the small-town Georgia native keeps his creative heading … even when it goes against the flow of traffic. Building on a signature style uniquely his own, this is full spectrum, guitar-driven country-rock, avoiding the pitfalls of a detour disguised as a shortcut to success. Because honestly, Denning has never been one to listen to directions.
CATIE OFFERMAN
Catie Offerman may be a new name to country music fans, but she’s already gaining a reputation as one of the genre’s most skilled players and promising modern traditionalists.
“I kind of see myself as aspiring to be a female George Strait,” Catie Says, “I want to be as vulnerable as I can and lighthearted because life is short.”
Nashville’s music community is responding. Catie graduated from Berklee College of Music at 19, signed her publishing deal with Universal Music Group Publishing about five years later, was featured in the Highwomen’s “Redesigning Women” video, inked her record deal with Universal Music Group in 2020 and was name one of “The Boots” 2021 artist to watch.
