Gerald R. “Jerry” Reed, age 82, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away December 6, 2023, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville, O., following a lengthy illness.

Born July 23, 1941, in Dennison, O., Jerry is the son of the late Raymond and Edith (Chini) Reed.

In 1959, Jerry graduated from St.  Mary’s High School.  He was the owner of Reeds Body Shop in Uhrichsville, which he started April 1, 1967.  He began his career in body work in high school.

Jerry was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Uhrichsville Moose, Uhrichsville Eagles, Dennison Eagles, Uhrichsville Elks, Tuscarawas County Coin Club, Knights of Columbus and a life member of the Tusco Gun Club.

He enjoyed fishing, boating at Tappan Lake for 40 years, trap shooting and annual fishing trips to Canada.

Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and their friends, including an annual fishing derby, fall hayrides and he had a great love for Golden Retrievers especially his best friend “Buddy”

Jerry leaves behind his wife Patricia A. (Gardina) Reed, whom he married on June 3, 1961; his daughter Deb (Steve) Anastasiadis of Cortland, O.; and his grandchildren Athena and Steve Anastasiadis.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by a son Jeffery and a sister Karen Reed Kohler.

Funeral mass for Jerry will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday December 15, 2023, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison, with Father Jeff Coning officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dennison, O.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the funeral home. Christian wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
