Gisella “Jane” Cunningham, 74, formerly of Midvale, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in Hennis Care Centre at Dover, following a period of declining health.

Born at Dover, Jane was the daughter of the late Basil and Freeda Bonisolli, Sr. and was a member of Roxford Church at Dennison. Throughout her life, Jane cherished her role as a wife and homemaker above all else. She had a special talent for cooking, with her Texas Sheet Cakes being a favorite among her “adopted” grandchildren. Her welcoming nature and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many.

In addition to her dedication to her family, Jane also found fulfillment in serving her community. One of her proudest accomplishments was her time as a former volunteer firefighter for the Village of Midvale. Her selfless dedication to helping others was truly admirable and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Jane is survived by her husband, Otis Cunningham; her “adopted” grandchildren, Kenny (Beth) Kohler, Matthew Kohler, Adam (McKinzie) Kohler and Luke Kohler; her three sisters, Lois, Janet and Marla and her brother, Basil “Buzzy”.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Larry and Bill.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia where a funeral service celebrating Jane’s life will begin at 11 AM with Brother Jim Manbeck officiating. A private burial will take place in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
