Mary Alice Reporting – Many cooling centers have opened across Tuscarawas County as an excessive heat advisory remains active until 9pm.

For those in the Gnadenhutten area, the village hall is opening, and the masonic temple building, at 112 S. Walnut Street, has hours that have yet to be finalized. If the building is not open, please contact 740-254- 4307 or 330-795-0611. They are also asking for any donations to be dropped off at the temple, but ask that folks call ahead.

*WTUZ will be at the location Thursday, at roughly 11:30 am, bringing pizzas with help from Papa Johns, and they will be available for anyone resident or worker in the Gnadenhutten area*

Other cooling centers can include public places like grocery stores, the New Towne Mall, and all local library locations.

The Tuscarawas County Senior Center is also open until 6:30 pm.

Fourth and Faith Community Outreach Center, at 401 N. Wooster Avenue in Dover, is inviting folks out today, from 1pm to 3pm, to get out of the heat with free lemonade and cookies.
