Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced grant funding to projects that will help protect Ohioans from toxic lead.
The grants are part of the Lead Safe Ohio program to support lead mitigation and prevention projects.
The Ohio Regional Development Corporation received over $7.5 million. The company covers local areas such as Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Holmes, and Tuscarawas counties.
The Wayne County Land Reutilization Corporation was awarded $766,000 and the Guernsey County Commissioners received almost $390,000. Additionally, the Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority was granted almost $3 million in funding.
The Lead Safe Ohio program allocated $84 million in total to 72 counties across the state.
