Debris cleanup went well for the Twin City Parks and Waterways group, and they are looking at a couple of more sites.

Rita McPeak updated Uhrichsville Council on what they accomplished in 2025.

“The first of November Bridges Excavating did in fact do the debris removal. This is the arch bridge on 4th Street. They removed all the logs and then they staged it as they went up the bank. It actually removed some of the foliage and underbrush and cleaned up the bank as well.”

She says there are two other locations along Still Water Creek that need attention. One is a larger debris pile closer to the golf course.

“It’s going to be about $30,000 removal and I’ve gotten word that it looks really go that Muskingum Watershed will fund that. It’s not official. If they fund that, they fund that 100-percent.”

The other debris location is near the water department lift station. McPeak says they are working to secure a MWCD grant for this project, which would fund up to 90-percent.
