Mary Alice Reporting –
Coming out in an early lead, Shane Gunnoe received the majority of votes and will stay as City of Dover mayor.
Gunnoe saw more than 1,000 votes over his opponent Colby Byrom.
He says he’s extremely grateful to the citizens of Dover for their support and confidence.
“I’m going to continue to work and do the same things and that’s really to move the city of Dover forward, try to put the turmoil of the past behind us, and I’d like to look back four years from now and think Dover and our residents are in a better place than the day I took over.”
Gunnoe has been serving as mayor for the past year and a half, and with the election win, his term is for four years.
