Harold E. “Bud” Rainsberg, 85, of Dover, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton.
Born June 17, 1940, in New Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Adrian and Clara Penick Rainsberg. Bud was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Rainsberg on November 3, 2019, and his sister, Dortha Knotts.
He retired from Associated Grocers in Dennison after more than 30 years of service. Bud had a lifelong passion for cars, particularly Corvettes, which he collected over the years. He was a founding member of the Classic Glass Corvette Club and competed in drag racing across the country, earning numerous trophies.
He is survived by his second wife, Linda Dusini Rainsberg whom he married on January 12, 2024; sisters Eileen (Carl) Stansberry of Dennison and Carol (John) McDougall of Dover; three step-children; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Julie (Chris) Stamets, Joe (Jen) McDougall; and many extended family members.
Cremation has been entrusted to Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover.
A celebration of Bud’s life will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover, with Pastor Matthew Wald officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
