Harry “Ron” McCormick, 77, of Newcomerstown, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at his home. He was born March 1, 1945 in Newcomerstown to the late James and Martha (Stocker) McCormick.
Ron was a 1965 graduate of Newcomerstown High School. He went on to work 38 years and 4 months at General Tire. He was a lifetime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Newcomerstown. Ron loved woodworking, fishing, purple martins, old western movies, the Daniel O’Donnell show, the Buckeyes, and cooking. He made wine in the old and new St. Paul Lutheran church for 45 years. He also completed many woodworking projects in the church. He and Jan took a trip to the Holy Land and Alaska. Ron had also trained and loved two golden retrievers.
On April 5, 1969, Ron married Janice (Mizer) McCormick, who survives. In addition to his wife, Ron is also survived by his sister, Sandy and her husband Franklyn Giampa of Egg Harbor, NJ; niece, Austynn and her husband Michael Mazzilli of Egg Harbor, NJ; great-nephew, Franco Michael Mazzilli; sister-in-law, Sandy McCormick of Newcomerstown; close friends, Jean and Harry Jones of Mansfield; close cousins, Peggy Feller and friend Fred Wagner, and Betty McCormick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Earl McCormick.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown with Pastor Mark Brodbeck officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Port Washington. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, two hours prior to the service, from 11 to 1 at the Addy Funeral Home.
