Hatcher Raymond Meeks Jr., 69, of New Philadelphia, peacefully drifted to sleep and woke up in heaven with his Lord Jesus Christ at his side on February 28, 2022.

Hatcher was born on November 29, 1952, in Canton and served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army. He followed his service by pursuing his degree at Kent State University.

Hatcher’s greatest pleasures in life included hunting and fishing with his buddies, grilling steaks, rooting for a losing Cleveland Indians franchise, and smoking a freshly rolled cigar. But above all, his pride, joy, and honor were his three children and four grandchildren. Hatcher was never shy to boast about his clan to anyone who would lend an ear, constantly sharing photos and videos to everyone, but especially to all of the nurses and aides who cared for him. Hatcher fought a tough battle to the very end and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Hatcher is survived by his children: Andrew (Trista) Meeks, Stefanie (Paul) Reineck, and Hatcher (Remi Bruell) Meeks III, as well as his grandchildren: Wren and Vivien Meeks, and Micah and Caleb Reineck. He was the eldest brother of Sherry (Jack) London and Steven (Patty) Meeks and was preceded in death by his parents, Hatcher Meeks Sr. and Teresa Yoho.

We know that Hatch is enjoying a cold Miller Lite in heaven with his best friend Tom. To cheers alongside him, family and close friends will host a celebration of life later this summer, with more information to follow.

We can’t wait to see you in heaven, Dad. Peace be with you. We love you.
