An income-eligible program is open to help Ohioans stay warm by helping with a one-time home energy bill.

HARCATUS Tri-County Community Action Organization is accepting application now through March 31, 2024 for the Winter Crisis Program.

Last year, the Winter Crisis Program assisted more than 67,000 households in Ohio, over 3,300 locally, and provided a total of $19 million in benefits.

This is to assist eligible individuals facing a disconnect notice, have been disconnected, need to establish or transfer new service, or have 25-percent or less supply of bulk fuel.

To qualify, households must show a gross annual income of at or below 175-percent of the deferral poverty level. For appointment, documents will also be needed including, copies of the most recent utility bill, a list of all household members and income proof, US citizenship proof for all in the home, and disability proof, if applicable.
