Helen Jean Johnson, 85, of Dover, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in her residence, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.

Born on March 6, 1937, in Goshen Township, she was the daughter of the late Richard L. and Edith M. (Krocker) Beamer.

After graduating from Immaculate Conception High School, Jean joined Fitz Fitzpatrick and Don Zimmerman at their law office, Fitzpatrick, Zimmerman & Rose Atty. where she served as an office manager for 60 years until she retired at the age of 79 in 2015.

When she wasn’t working, Jean devoted her life to supporting her husband and extended family’s interests. She also had a love for country music, watching all Cleveland sports teams, and NASCAR. John and Jean enjoyed traveling all over the country attending races and vacationing in the Smoky Mountains and Myrtle Beach.

Jean leaves behind her special family including several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Completing the family is her two sisters, Rosalie (Larry) Bolden and Carol (Larry) Valentine; and sister-in-law, Chris Beamer.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert (Linda) Beamer, Richard (Betty) Beamer, and Kenneth Beamer.

Father Jimmy Hatfield will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia.
